The celebrations begin on April 17, with a special workshop led by our culinary team, where you’ll learn to prepare kaltsounia, Crete’s beloved traditional Easter treats.
On Holy Thursday, join our team at the reception to decorate the Epitaphios with flowers from our garden. Take a moment to admire the handcrafted wooden Epitaphios, a beautiful example of the island’s folk artistry.
On Holy Friday, the atmosphere turns solemn and deeply moving as we gather at the St. George’s chapel within the hotel grounds to follow the Epitaphios procession, a moment of reflection and devotion.
On Holy Saturday, the Resurrection ceremony takes place by the lake of Agios Nikolaos, followed by a spectacular fireworks display, filling the night sky with light and joy.
The celebrations culminate on Easter Sunday, one of the most cherished days of the year. A lavish feast unfolds, featuring an array of rotisserie meats, traditional pies, fresh salads, creamy spreads, and delectable desserts, all perfectly paired with fine wine and raki. The day is filled with live Cretan music and dancing, lasting until sunset.
